PHILOSOPHY

Waterloo Swim School maintains the following philosophy

• Water Safety & Respect is our primary goal.
• Teaching students to swim occurs in a fun-learning environment.
• Swimming skills to last a lifetime are learned through repetition and progression through the building blocks of swimming combined with positive reinforcement.

STAFF

Mike Varozza,  Owner and director of Waterloo Swim School.  Mike has been involved in swimming for over 30 years.  Throughout his career, Mike has coached year-round and summer league swim teams, and has taught swim lessons to infants through adults.  Mike’s swimming career includes NCAA Swimming All-American, US Swimming 1988 Olympic Trials Qualifier, and current US Masters Swimming National and World Record Holder.

Gwyn Varozza, Administrative Manager and Mike’s wife, assists with the management of Waterloo Swim School.  Gwyn is also mom, chauffeur, coordinator, nurse and queen to our three boys and volunteers at their schools and with the PTA.  She is available most days to answer your questions and help with any concerns you may have.

Instructors: All of our instructors have completed Waterloo Swim School’s Instructor Training Certification Program. This course covers our philosophy, teaching style and the practical application to our swim program. Instructors are also certified in Community First Aid and CPR.
